Privacy Policy

Swap Currency Converter (“Swap”) is a currency app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device and which other companies help it show rates, ads, and subscriptions.

No account

Swap does not ask you to create an account. It does not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or calendar.

What stays on your device

The app stores this information locally so it can work the next time you open it:

• Favorite currency pairs
• The currencies and amount you last used
• How many times you have changed currencies, which is used to decide when to offer Currency Pro
• A short-lived cache of exchange rates, kept for about 30 minutes
• The pair shown in the Home Screen widget, shared with the widget through an App Group on your device

That information is not uploaded to a Swap account, because there isn’t one.

Exchange rates

To calculate a conversion, Swap requests rates from ExchangeRate-API. The request identifies the rate service and the currencies. It does not include your name.

Advertising

The free version of Swap can show ads through Google Mobile Ads. Where the law requires a choice, the app uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to ask for consent before requesting ads. You can review or change that choice in Privacy Settings inside the app.

If you allow tracking, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt explains that an identifier may be used to deliver more relevant ads. If you decline, ads can still appear, but they are not based on tracking you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Currency Pro is an optional subscription that removes ads.

Purchases

Currency Pro is sold through the App Store. Swap uses RevenueCat to tell whether the subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an app user identifier and subscription status from Apple. Apple processes the payment. Swap does not receive your card number.

Diagnostics

Swap includes Firebase so the app can report crashes and basic usage, such as device type, operating system, and app version. This is used to find problems and keep the app reliable. It is not used to build a profile of your name or contacts.

Children

Swap is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will change with it.
